14 Enumclaw Restaurants Not to Miss
Known as the “Gateway” to the north entrance of Mount Rainier National Park, Enumclaw is the kind of town that most folks see through a car window. But the small farming community tucked at the base of Mount Rainier (aka ‘The Mountain’) is home to much more than just cows and wheat fields. Scattered throughout the quaint downtown and surrounding region, a plethora of Enumclaw restaurants have taken root.
Offering a mix of down-home comfort and farm-fresh ingredients, these local joints are worthy of a visit — whether you’re looking for a pit stop while passing through or looking for a unique getaway.
Mexican Restaurants in Enumclaw
Maguey's Grill
For authentic Mexican food and a really good margarita, Maguey’s Grill is the go-to in Enumclaw. Located just off Highway 410, parking is easy, service is exceptional, and the menu is consistent. Classics, like Carne Asada and Chile Relleno, are consistent crowd-pleasers. During the winter months, the ultra-fragrant tortilla soup is loaded with warmth and comfort.
Enumclaw’s Go-To Italian Restaurants
Il Siciliano Ristorante Italiano
A sampling of Sicily in Enumclaw is not what one would expect of a town where cars have been spotted sharing parking spots with horses. But when the Brancato family immigrated, they brought both their traditional dishes and values. Their small family-owned restaurant is tucked just one block off Griffin Avenue.
The unpretentious nature of not-quite-finished floors and pizza boxes stacked behind the bar indeed seem out of place when compared to both the presentation and elevated flavors. But that’s part of the charm. This isn’t a crumb-scraping joint. It’s the kind of Enumclaw Italian restaurant where you feel like family.
Pizza in Enumclaw Washington
Cascadia Pizza Co.
What began as a pizza truck, evolved into a brick-and-mortar hot spot for carry-out pies in 2019. Voted Best Pizza on the Plateau by the readers’ of the Enumclaw Courier Herald, their success has since allowed them to open two additional locations (one in Maple Valley and one in Bellevue).
The Enumclaw location has limited patio seating for those who want to get down to business immediately. (It can be hard for the whole pie to make it home. We speak from experience.) Favorites include the Buckley (red sauce with pepperoni, Mama Lil’s peppers, sausage, and goat cheese), the Cascadia Margherita (red sauce with basil, mozzarella, tomatoes, and a balsamic drizzle), and the Apple Woodfired Wings seasoned with a signature Cascadia rub.
Enumclaw Dinners, Bistros, Gastropubs & Wine Bars
Rainier Bar & Grill
This family-friendly gastropub is tucked in the heart of downtown Enumclaw. Moody lighting, a full bar, and scrumptious comfort food make this a go-to spot for those looking to unplug. The burgers will stick to your gut. The salads are hearty. And the dinner entrees lean towards a bit more elevated fare with options like seared ahi tuna and blackened salmon.
Main Street Bistro (Nearby Buckley)
Located in Enumclaw’s neighboring town Buckley, Main Street Bistro is just 12 minutes from downtown Enumclaw and 17 minutes from Enumclaw Estates. It offers a relaxing, warm, and inviting atmosphere with a phenomenal selection of beers.
The menu is primarily comprised of flatbread pizzas with unique selections like Buffalo Chicken and The Popper — a fun and playful riff on a Jalapeño popper. While visiting, leave time to check out their eclectic selection of gifts, ranging from kids’ toys and candied treats to housewares and swag.
Bordeaux Wine Bar
Focused on highlighting Pacific Northwest wine, this vintage-inspired wine bar is located in the heart of downtown Enumclaw. In addition to their lengthy wine and beer list, they offer a wide range of paninis, salads, and cheese boards perfect for pairing with your favorite beverage (or two).
Cafes in Enumclaw & Desserts
Griffin & Wells Cafe
With a commitment to locally-sourced ingredients, the Griffin & Wells Cafe menu is made fresh daily — right down to the rolls and hamburger buns. Favorites include the smoked wild prawns and the Olson’s smoked pork chop. For those visiting as a family, the Family Pork Chop Meal is a steal of a deal. Designed to feed four, it comes with Apple Bacon Relish Mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cookies.
Krain Corner Restaurant
An Enumclaw breakfast staple, Krain Corner dishes up hearty breakfasts perfect for growing kids and those who need help soaking up last night’s festivities. The Bloody Marys come loaded with snacks (salami, pickled veg, and celery). The Corned Beef Hash is a constant crowd-pleaser. So too is the French Toast (just be sure to order it before 2 PM).
The Lee
This family-friendly restaurant and lounger dishes up three-squares a day (aka breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The dinner-esc setting is as comforting and welcoming as its hearty menu. Breakfast favorites include a spicy chorizo scramble; 10-ounce rib eye served with 2 eggs to order, hashbrowns, and toast; and unctuous buttermilk biscuits smothered in country gravy.
Express-o Yourself
Located off Highway 410, Express-o Yourself is an eclectic mix of coffee shop and deli. It accepts all manors of transportation through its drive-through, even tractors and horses! But don’t assume that means they’re dishing up yesterday’s swell. They offer an impressive selection of classic pulls and seasonally-inspired drinks.
Plus, their menu of pastries, sandwiches, soups, and salads is loaded with fresh ingredients and hearty comfort. Sure, the drive-through here takes longer than Mermaid shop down the road, but the made-in-house flavor is worth the extra wait. In-door dining is also available.
The Local Coffee House
Online you’ll find this quaint coffee shop named ‘The Local Coffee House.’ But ask around (or look at their logo) and you’ll discover it’s simply referred to as ‘The Local.’ Designed as a modern-day general store and coffee house, they sling an intriguing mix of coffee, keepsakes, and homegoods.
While seating here isn’t abundant, the curated mix of tables and chairs offers the kind of place designed for lingering over a book and catching up with a good friend.
The food is simple (pastries and a handful of sandwiches). The shopping selection is a treasure trove (locally made candles, giggle-worthy signs, decorative pillows, and more). And the location at the heart of old Enumclaw is a prime spot for exploring the town.
Sweet Necessities
Dishing up old-fashioned ice cream and hand-crafted treats (including caramels, chocolates, truffles, and fudge), Sweet Necessities brings the small town happiness of a classic soda shop. Using only real ingredients, their small batch production process ensures the highest quality — right down to the addictingly delicious waffle cones that are freshly baked. (The wafting scent that fills the street is complimentary.)
Enumclaw Food Trucks & Drive-Ins
Stacks Burgers Food Trailer
Bring. Your. Appetite. Stacks Burners Food Trailer isn’t messing around. This local food truck regularly sets up shop at 1110 Marshall Avenue in Enumclaw. And their menu doesn’t disappoint — assuming you like big burgers and fabulous fries.
Wally’s Drive-In
Thing’s nothing like a little old-school dining experience to add some fun (and deliciousness) to your day. Operating for nearly 35 years on a rural snippet of land tucked beside Highway 410, it’s the perfect spot to stop going to or from Mount Rainier.
The menu is extensive. Sandwiches. Hot dogs. More than 20 different burgers! And that doesn’t even include their ‘famous fish and chips,’ kid combos, or their impressive selection of sides. While the onion rings and fried mushrooms are good, the fries are fabulous. The chili cheese fries are big enough to be a main course for some. And have we mentioned the milkshakes? Like we said. The menu is long.
Eating in your car is surely encouraged, as the restaurant is flanked by a plethora of car stalls. An outdoor picnic table and minimal indoor seating is available. And if you order inside to-do, they’ll bring your pipping hot food to you.
